Tom Conti

I once told a story about Tom Conti and as he is coming to Yorkshire I shall tell it again.

I invited friends to a special birthday I was celebrating and on the invitation I mentioned I had also asked Tom Conti to join us – however if he turned up they were all to leave early. 

I booked a room at the local pub and showed the barmaid the printed birthday details, are you still with me?

Barmaid:  Oh she said you know Tom Conti

Me: No

Barmaid: But you have invited him to your birthday party

Me: I know

Barmaid: But you do not know him

The conversation went down hill from there.
