Lots
of incidents on this holiday but first I shall tell you about the Nativity Play
which was held in the village square -
on the main stage adults were singing and playing instruments and
beneath the stage the children were waiting for their cues. The atmosphere was
tense, an angel was fighting with a king, Joseph was singing, Mary hitched up
her robe to scratch her bottom but all eyes were on the Angel Gabriel; he was
in charge of Jesus who was unceremoniously hitched under his arm and then he
threw him in the crib.
The
Spanish lady sitting next to me kept hugging me and shouting ‘Bravo’ – I was
having difficulty hanging on to my gin and tonic and could not stop laughing
