I SAID NO

There we were in a romantic, secluded hotel with sea views and an in-house priest and Albert asked me if I wanted to renew my vows – I said no.  He was very upset so I had to change my mind, perhaps he does love me.

I am still going to Australia without him renewed vows or not, just three more shelves to fill in the freezer with pies and cakes.

Vows and Promises

Veronica spoke to me on the telephone, she said I could mime my vows or change the wording, I shall think about it.

A Headache

Apparently Albert had a headache on Monday and he is still waiting for me to fetch the medication, why?

He was missing for an hour earlier today as I did not know he was in the loft and shut the trapdoor.

Nets and Brandy

I need to iron my net curtains, yes I know it is nearly 11 p.m. – I must stir my cherry brandy too; so much to do.

Sid

I met an old flame of Veronica’s yesterday – did I tell you about Sid?  In our early teens  when we tired of our current boyfriend we sent the other to finish with them; I met up with Sid to tell him the romance was off and he cried.

We were mean.

My Renewed Vows

Veronica telephoned me today but I was out and I refuse to give her an answer about my renewed vows; if I avoid her until Saturday it will be too late.

Herbs and things

I think my sister in law likes Albert; she gave me a book on herbs etc so I will recognize my plants and not poison him.

No time for blogs

My neighbour told me my net curtains were ‘dusty’ – I relied upon my mother to wash them and she has been dead fifteen years; I am now spring cleaning with Albert’s help.

Australia

Albert knows about Australia, he said he may visit me; I am keeping quiet at the moment but slowly filling the freezer with meals for one.

Goings on in Plymouth

I cannot write about my latest adventure in case my brother finds out – he does not know that his sister is a celebrity.

Red Wine and Cherries

I bought too many cherries yesterday and after two glasses of red wine decided to make cherry brandy.  The cherries were too big for the bottle so I had to put them in a pickle onion jar and then there was a glass or two of brandy left so I could not waste it – it was 1 a.m. in the morning when I finished the task.

I shall invite Veronica for a glass or two of my cherry brandy in May.

A week in Plymouth

We spent a week in Plymouth with my brother and his family, returned yesterday on the train – we shared a carriage with a famous football player, why was he travelling with the public?  So if you know a football player that travels with his Papillion dog it was him.

Davideena

Davideena Pennyroyal is Spanish and went to school with me; she married Herman, an American pilot.  Why am I telling you this – because Herman died and they were going on a tour of Australia in March, yes you have guessed Davideena has asked me to go instead as she does not want to waste the holiday.

I have a week to tell Albert.

I will tell Veronica first.

Another Birthday

It is my brother’s birthday next week so away to celebrate back on Friday.  Albert insisting on accompanying me; I was so looking forward to reading my book, drinking red wine, eating posh sandwiches and talking to strangers on the train.

A Passing Bus

Veronica thought I was away and was surprised to see me on a bus – we could have met for coffee or a pink wine.

Snowballs

Bored today, sent Veronica a text asking if she wanted to throw snowballs with me – she said I should act my age and the answer was no.

We used to play in the snow at my home which was in the country and my Mum made us black pudding sandwiches; which Veronica loved until she became aware of how the black pudding was made.

I shall make Albert a black pudding sandwich but he will not play in the snow either.

Our Birthday Celebrations

When I was 60 or thereabouts I went with an elite gathering to a local pub having beforehand taken in my printed invitation to show the management; to keep them informed.  You may have guessed the invitation was not average and I mentioned that I had invited Tom Conti, the bar maid was aghast that I knew Tom and when I explained that I did not know him she wanted to know why I had invited him?

Veronica and I usually celebrate our birthdays twice, once with family and then together – I think her 60 something birthday was when I was teaching her to crotchet and we got thrown out of the pub.

Perhaps this year we should have a restrained birthday?

Oh Veronica

Veronica and Emilio are celebrating a big anniversary soon and have asked ‘special’ people to join them in a celebration.  So far so good, but she has also asked if anyone wishes to renew their vows with them?  I am hoping that by not replying she will take my answer as no, but she may ask me again – oh dear what to do?

My Brother

I told you his name was Morris Michael but he is known as Granger, apologies.

Wrong Bus

Albert is not talking to me, we got on the wrong bus yesterday and ended up in Harrogate – I shall not tell you where we should have been.  Albert missed his lunch and it was approaching 4 p.m. when we got back home; Veronica and I would have had late lunch and a drink in Wetherspoons and we are not afraid of being out in the dark; she sings to me when it is very dark and she is afraid.

We (Veronica and I of course) once got lost in Scarborough and we were walking along the sea front at midnight and she was singing very loud when a young policeman approached us – he took us back to our hotel, bless him!
