The time has come for me to tell you the truth, I am a fiction writer - would I recognise the truth?

Shall I tell you that I am a bus driver on the No 3 bus, in Whitby?

No, I say; I will literally bury Eunice for a while as she has become a bore.

I will return in January and maybe, just maybe will have found Veronica.

Until then don't abandon me.

Andrea, the story was about a crisp factory and an elf.

Book signing

I arranged to meet a relative last week in York, left early having made Albert a stack of sandwiches.

I arrived at the cafe and was astonished to be greeted by a smiling young lady, a man in a green hat asked if I was there for the book signing, er .... no.

When I left the man in the green hat was reading his stories to the writer; I do not think the event was a success. 

Cleaning up

Albert has rearranged my writing room and I have lost 5 stories!

Christmas lunch with Mabel Elizabeth tomorrow.

I have taken to writing in a local pub with half a pint.  Albert does not like this idea and insists I stay at home, and he will open a bottle of wine .........

Albert came home with flowers because it is our anniversary, on the same day as the Queen and Prince Phillip.

I am popular in Hungary today.

Fifty pounds

I had to bring £50 in change for my craft stall - my purse wasn't big enough.  I have made £600 profit and cannot possibly return home on the bus!

I hope Albert has left me some stew.

I am looking after a friend's craft stall in York tomorrow, I will leave a stew in the oven Albert.

I have been busy completing an on-line crime writing course.

I now travel on the number 333 bus wondering what my neighbours are up to?

Take Colin and Ada, they took in lodgers and Ada always became very friendly with male lodgers.  Kenny was a long term visitor with Colin and Ada and he disappeared ............  never to be seen again?

Next week I am away on a proper crime writing course so be prepared for tales of mystery and intrigue!

Allotment alert

I was ready to blog but was needed at the allotment after UK hurricane.  Henry and Lottie's shed is wrecked and there was debris everywhere. 

Albert finished the holiday washing whilst I was away.

I was sat on the local bus minding my own business when I decided to take a look at my phone - I hit the pause button on the music and the whole bus was treated to "The Sound of Silence", very loudly.

I got off at the next stop because the bus driver was not amused - some surprise when he discovered I was not a teenager!

Who is he, Paul is a youngish sports journalist I met some years ago when he was cycling to Liverpool from Heptonstall. I had actually lost track of him and never knew if he completed his journey?

A dead tree

Many years ago Mabel Elizabeth asked me to take care of her son's tree, a spruce type.

I did look after it, even though I didn't like it, I am sure it thrived to spite me.

Suddenly last week it appears to have died - I should not have told Mabel Elizabeth as she said I murdered it!

Out for the day Albert as I am looking for a replacement tree.

Missed call

The BBC rang today but I was out visiting Martin - I hope they call again.

Allotment drama

Martin Swan was missing and Preston Puddle telephoned to ask if I had seen him?

I had seen Martin picking his broad beans as I left and assumed he was locking up.

Trevor and Norman collected me and we set off for the allotment; Albert was invited.

It was dark when we arrived, we split up to search shouting Martin's name - there was a reply ........ poor Martin had fallen in the communal compost bin.

He is still in hospital but improving.

Yes I know Michael Fusewire  I said Monday - soon I promise; perhaps after dinner and a small sherry?

Such a busy week - Martin was locked in the  allotment and Albert bought new curtains.

Albert is learning how to order goods on line. However he has purchased a poly tunnel for the garden, so I don't have to visit the allotment so often.

Cornwall re-visited

I mentioned to Albert that we may not return to Cornwall; it was a seven hour journey home - we could have caught a flight to a Caribbean island in less time.

Also, we had to listen to Neal from Hexham telling us how to make a sweet and sour, curried pigeon stew - NO WAY!

An aviator

How time flies, back home to cooler Yorkshire tomorrow.

The aviator - Albert and I are looking after Biggles this afternoon;  he is a beautiful, white Russian bloodhound.

Biggles is bringing along a bottle of champagne, pity Albert does not like champagne. 

Train travel

Mrs Slipperbut assured Albert and I that Woof likes trains, so we are planing to take him to Looe tomorrow. 

Michael (the pig) is hiding from the sun and Simon the cat has disappeared?

A wet dog

I was enjoying a late appointment with my hairdresser when another client opened the door.  Before she entered, her dog Norman shot in behind the wash basins. This caused my hairdresser to  drop the water hose and water hit the ceiling and soaked the dog.

Celebrating

It is my birthday week this week - I am currently drinking Prosecco and an occasional tea.  Eating salmon and pasta and just chilling; Albert will be pleased when the week is over .............

Lost love and eucalyptus trees

I was going to stop in and dust yesterday but Albert had booked seats on a bus to Scarborough.

All was going smoothly until Geraldine got on the bus at York Station, did I tell you about Geraldine?  

Geraldine used to own and run a local plant nursery, it was a profitable concern and she was assisted by Martin.

Gist of story - Martin broke her heart,  ran off with all her money and her prized eucalyptus trees.

Albert was so fed up of the tree story by the time we got to Scarborough! 

Hanging curtains

Back home after a cultural few days with Mabel Elizabeth.

Albert has not altered my cupboards but instead put up new curtains in the bedroom - they are wonderful; personally I am not good with curtains as I measure them incorrectly and have no flair.  Well done Albert.

A strawberry confession

I tripped whilst going downstairs with a bowl of strawberries, three of the fruits slid down the white linen wallpaper (leaving a red snail like mark) and one landed on the top of Albert's grandfather clock!

A weekend in London

Albert is away this weekend and I shall miss him!

Threatening behaviour

Albert was at risk today:

he walked up behind me at the cash point (I did not know he was there) and said loudly giz us your money ........... I told him to get lost.

In the meantime a young lady at the next till was about to hit him until I laughed, if I had laughed a second later the outcome would have been so different!

Lucky day

I had a letter published in the local paper today and 'Ernie' (Premium Bond one) sent me £25.00.

I forgot

I did mean to buy Albert a bun, but by the time I had taken Sophie home I had passed the shops .........

Just nipping out to meet Gloria Swanson (of course it is not her real name) for a posh coffee.

Told Albert I would go straight to yoga and sorry he cannot have the car!

Vacuuming and dusting

Albert bought new dusters and has vacuumed today,  .............. me, I spent an hour or two with Desmond at the allotment and wrote a story.

Tomorrow I shall be at yoga while Albert irons.

I returned home early from my writing course and Albert has cleaned all the windows.

I now have a problem,  as he used all my dusters, how am I able to dust without dusters.

I have to bake Albert a cake and scones - perhaps I should leave him recipe books?

I am away tomorrow until a week on Wednesday - I am writing in an old house, at the top of a big hill.

I met up with the Dobson family (half of them) from Suffolk on Thursday - they deserted Yorkshire!

We were back to being kids again with scrubbed knees, expert tree climbers, roller skaters; a near perfect childhood over forty years ago.

A suggestion was made that we do not leave it so long in future so I hope they are reading this?

Locked out

I was out with the 'girls' on Friday and locked Albert out of the house.

It was his own fault as he left the television on and obviously I thought he was watching it - some time later there was heavy banging on the front door.  I left it as long as was appropriate before letting him in!

I was so tempted to leave him outside in the rain.

A Colin from Wetwang has offered me three new bikes - no thank you.

We were listening to Procol Harum singing A Whiter Shade of Pale when Colin whispered in my ear:

"can I borrow your bike" ............ I never did get my bike back and according to statistics the above mentioned record was in the charts 50 years ago in May.

If anyone sees Colin please ask him to return my bike.

Making plans

I had great plans for today, a picnic basket discreetly hidden, a selection of cheeses, fruits and more - posh coffee, a bottle of wine.

I just needed to persuade Albert to drive me to Bluebell Wood and then it rained and rained and rained ..............

Albert and I are out for lunch with Warwick and Bernicia today.

I am just casually hanging about as I don't want Albert to think I am over keen on leaving him.

A warm day

I spruced up the garden and set up my mini greenhouse today, Albert washed and ironed.

Valentine's Day

I was so lucky - Albert bought me a kilo of best mince, and I gave him a bag of chocolate buttons along with a box of dishwasher tablets!

An interesting turn of events, Albert knows Vivien and came along to meet him; I am not taking him next week!

Seaside

Albert took me to the seaside for two days, I hope he does not know about Vivien?

Don't tell Albert .............

I was asked by a local writing group to help Vivien type up a book and generally give advice.

No mention was made of Vivien's gender and I spent two days with a lovely elderly gentleman - I typed, laughed, made coffee and had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

I am going back again next week but please do not tell Albert!

Lettuce

Janet has finally caught up with me, she has been unwell with a lettuce allergy!

Albert was fully recovered today and took me out for lunch, I wonder why?

I was worried my mates in New Zealand had abandoned me, welcome back.

Crocheting or not?

I am collecting Veronica from home tomorrow and leaving the car elsewhere for Albert to pick up; then we are talking crochet over a bottle or two of red wine, in a local inn.

Albert can have today's leftover curry.

I have been offered a commission by a famous magazine - of course I cannot tell you anything, as I do no advertise.

22 ⅓ bus from Wetwang to Scarborough - look out for the lady with the purple hair!

Veronica has a bad toe and cannot come out!

Cinderella

I feel like Cinderella, my dress borrowed from Petronella for Tristan and Pollyanna Jasmine's wedding, has been cleaned and will be returned next week.

I need to make arrangements to send back my stunning hat to Stephanie, the marathon knitter; I wonder if she would enjoy lunch out?

Lunch

It was a long lunch and I did not return until         6 p.m. - tomorrow could be in jeopardy!

Confusion

I sent Veronica a text message and predicted text took over, she does not know what I am talking about!

We need a meeting before the party in February : I will book an appointment with her.

Cookery lessons

I tried to explain that the red chopping board was for meat - raw meat.

What is the difference between raw meat and cooked meat he asked me ................. ??

No more dancing .....

I am at a gathering with my 'old' school pals on the 13 January - I hope my feet are recovered to dance on the tables!
