Sunday

I have forgotten what to do in England on a Sunday - prawns on the barbeque?

Must ring Veronica.

The wake

The wake was just a party, a rehearsal for when this funky couple need a wake!

It began with pie and peas for lunch and then a 1940s band complete with a Glenn Miller look alike - what a great way to spend an afternoon.

Called to collect Violet Rose on the way home and we headed for the nearest pub; she has news to give me?  May tell you her secret later.

Arrived home very late and Albert appears to be missing.

Time for a break

Albert is celebrating his return to England with friends - me, I am going to a wake.

On camera

I visited a famous shop yesterday and took a wrong turning into a staff only location - it used to be a short cut through the store.  The door locked behind me and to get out I had to bang on the door to be let out.

I was still tired.

Cold in England

Veronica picked Albert and I up from the railway station, I was very pleased that she did not want a drink today as I have not been to bed for two days.

Snippets and stories to follow.

Too busy

Albert is busy doing 'our' packing and I am reading a book.

Normal service will be resumed next week hopefully.

On my way home Veronica, get the wine in the fridge.

Not yoga

We looked after a dog named Flossie for an English actress and stayed in her house for a week.  Today Albert and I called to see her in a secret  location to say goodbye.

Let me call the  actress Noelina  because I can - she was telling me that  her doctor suggested she took up yoga, I cannot do that she says because I fart too much.

There was no reply . . . .

Goodbye Whangarei

Albert and I spent last night in an Irish  bar  run  by  an  Indian  gentleman  named Moses - why they were playing Christmas  music remains a mystery.

Happy hour was 1 until 2 am which was way past Albert's bedtime.

Calling to see Gwendolyn and Lonnie  for a few days at the  beach - you must remember them?

Yesterday

I feel odd emailing Veronica  when she is still in yesterday.

An actor' s life

Albert and I  met a famous  English actor in the resteraunt  last night - I only waved once but Albert was annoyed.

I promised not to mention him on my blog but it cost him a large Shiraz.

Thoughts of New Zealand

I will miss the  mangroves, smell of jasmine and jugs of beer.

I have not returned to the  UK yet - just think, in the  next 20 days you may meet me . . . I am tall, blonde, tantalizingly  beautiful, witty and have several aliases.

Did I  mention  that  Veronica  was once called Gladys  until I changed her name.

Yachties night

We were told  that  it was alright  to go along to a local restaurant,  at the  marina for Yachties  night.  They had a special  menu and happy  hour  for drinks.

All well and good until someone asked me  what  the name  of  my boat was, I developed a stutter and then had a brainwave - VERONICA!

Russia

I seem to have a lot of Russian followers - it must be because of the  Russian Princess?

Banking

I was asked to remove my sunglasses in a bank - but I cannot see without them, they are reactor  lenses not sunglasses - please take them off madam but I cannot see ....... I left without  any cash.

Yes Veronica

Of course Veronica, we could be peach  pickers or wine tasters!

Russian Princess

I met a Russian Princess (she insisted that she was) in the hairdressers, she said that she was working in New Zealand for life experience and then returning to  Russia  to be a Princess?

She was not dressed like a Princess!

New friend

To my new friend Toni, of course  my name is not Eunice and perhaps Veronica is called Maureen - we are 30 something year old Yorkshire lasses.

We may be flight attendants or mussel collectors?

Missing my pal

I miss my pal in the  UK but I shall be back soon, get the  drinks in - large ones.

New Zealand

Someone asked me what I thought  of New Zealand  - the people  are wonderful,  Albert and I have made some lovely friends and had quite  a  laugh.

Books and spring onions are expensive  though?

Supermarket

Selection of pates in the  cold fridge - cracked pepper, cracked pepper, cracked pepper, cracked pepper?

Floods at local winery

I was so looking forward  to Saturday  (today) and had selected a large bottle to fill at the  winery  - all outside events cancelled due to flooding!

Even Albert could not have arranged that, or could he?
