After lunch

It was not a good idea shopping for Albert’s tea after drinking with Veronica!

Today's weather

It is foggy today so I will travel into the city early and take a book in case Veronica is late.  It is our Christmas lunch because we are busy for the next month or two.

 

Will she notice?

I did mean to inform Veronica that my hair is now blonde with pink highlights, will she recognise me?

I will wear a big hat just in case!

Change of plan

Veronica and I are meeting in a trendy pub on Tuesday …………… I wonder why?

A coffee morning

I am meeting Veronica for coffee on Tuesday – we do not usually drink coffee?

Making amends

I baked a cake and cleaned the kitchen floor but Albert is still not impressed – he wants me to be like Mrs Dove across the road. 

Mabel Dove never goes out and even polishes the garage door.  To start with we do not have a garage and I would have no news for my bloggers if I did not socialise.

Allotment tomorrow to dig up carrots with Trevor.

Dinner/tea/supper

I missed Albert’s dinner and I cannot blame Veronica.

Sorry Albert I am out for lunch again – I will be back in time for dinner!

My sunflowers are stunning – I should take Albert a bunch!

Veronica did not make the Christmas dinner because she fell off her bike.

I am busy planning another dinner for my friend – her knee will be better then.

Hockey

I was supposed to report to a local paper on a hockey match last week and I forgot – sacked again I guess?

Christmas

Are you ready for the Christmas dinner Veronica?

I must tell you about a long lunch I had with a famous writer named Cloud Flower yesterday – I travelled into York early leaving Albert to fix his own breakfast and met her at the railway station.

We had so much to talk about and I can hardly remember what we ate and drank but Cloud Flower nearly missed her train.

Albert was out when I returned home late.

 

 

Onions and beans

I was collecting beans and digging up onions at the allotment when Albert rang me which was a big surprise.  Apparently I left a pie for his lunch which he thought was meat and made gravy - it turned out to be an apple pie. 

I am not popular!

 

 

Tinsel

I am seeing Veronica on Friday at our ‘old school’ Christmas dinner – I wonder if she will be wearing tinsel? 

She will be singing Christmas songs and dancing ……….

 

Aubergines

Just going out for a couple of hours Albert, I need to cover my aubergines in case of frost – no I will not be back for lunch.

 

 

Rabbit alert

Oh dear my next door neighbour’s rabbit is sat on my lawn; he is staring at me; should I return it to his owner?

I will take my time as I do not want to be too helpful.

 

 

Filming information

I have been released from filming – does that mean I am sacked; I shall ask Judi Dench or Maggie Smith next time I see them.

Notification of whereabouts

Veronica is back but she has gone again – I do hope she is not avoiding me!

I still do not know where she is but I am sure she will be back for next week for our school reunion Christmas dinner.  We are having our celebration dinner early this year because Albert and I are going overseas and the Canadian Mountie and his family are staying in our house – I told you about it before.

Smelly

Albert suggested we go to the cinema today but insisted that I spray his back with mentholatum and geranium pain relief; he smells awful.

I hope we are sitting on our own in the cinema.

Missing for days

I seem to have lost Veronica again.

Improving health status

The men in my house, Albert and Elvis are much improved thank you Kitty from New York.

So much better I shall have a day shopping tomorrow – I will leave a salad and a tin of tuna!

Sick

Albert and Elvis are not well – I had better stay in for a few days.

I could invite Veronica for tea.

Veronica - Eunice postcards

I have hundreds of postcards from Veronica because I have known her for many years. 

In amongst my postcard collection I found one saying “the party has begun” bye with no signature – I have no idea who sent it.

Another postcard said “so far things are idyllic but it is only day one” signed Anthony – who is he?

A card from Adelaide in 1997 was love from Rita – who on earth is she?

Veronica may know who they are, I shall ask her.

Sweet cheese

I made cheese, onion and garlic scones today – Albert buttered them and put jam on them …………. I really did not have the heart to tell him; I shall tell him tomorrow.

 

 

A consequence of divorce

I proudly wrote a cheerful message to my brother in law and his wife – his first wife!

 …………..  it was such a nice card!

 

 

Trouble ahead

I have been re-called for filming but in the meantime have had my hair cut – will have to wear a cabbage leaf on my head.

Too tight

I am back but sorry I can say ‘nowt’ about my weekend or they will not pay me.  I will just say that my costume was very tight - I told the lady at the audition that her tape measure was wrong. I was third from the left on the second row …………….
